Here are a few helpful websites for Sony users and photographers in general. Check
'em out; if you like the content or services provided, please make a donation. My own guiding factors for making donations
are; did the site help me save money or make up my mind in a purchase? Do I return to the site regularly, say a few
times a month, to browse any new material, even if it doesn't help me in a particular situation. A gift of $5
or $10 helps the site owners keep up with fees such as hosting, domain, certificates, bandwidth, security and software updates
to name a few, that, of course, doesn't include time or product costs etc. The listing below is not in order of importance,
I'm just adding the links as I remember them. More will follow in the coming months.
Kenrockwell.com Heavy on Nikon, but there's so much more. Would you like to be able to determine the amount of energy produced
by "mirror whip" on a particular DSLR? Or how about the possibilities of regenerative joystick and control
dial charging of the battery? It's all here. For people that may not need this kind of information, check out
the vast collection of great articles (of which I've learned a lot) about general photography, especially his magnum opus,
"your camera doesn't matter." The site is huge, and a bit haphazardly arranged, so use the search bar for
quickest results.
Yosemitefun.com A great site if you plan on visiting Yosemite, or like to look at really good pictures. This guy has spent decades
at the park, and gives days long photo tours in the high country. Check out the photos, some are far better than Ansel
Adams in my opinion.
Dyxum.com Huge user review database for Sony/Minolta lenses. Beware of overzealous and uninformed reviewers making dubious
claims. Some may be knowledgeable, some may not know anything, you just have to figure it out yourself.
MHohner.de A wealth of information on Sony/Minolta AF lenses, flash units, accessories
and cameras. Basically a complete specs/compatibility chart for all AF Minolta and Sony lenses and cameras. Also
see the FAQ page, which is very interesting. Try to send this guy some money. I see no link for CC or Paypal.
B&H Photo Totally legit outfit. Mostly the best prices. Good return policy. I've used them for years and never
had a deal go bad. The link is for Sony, Minolta and after-market lenses.
Adorama Another good store with excellent prices, but for some reason lately, every time I try to order something, they're
out of stock. Good return policy. Link is to all camera stuff.
1x.com Great photos submitted by anyone, but editors approve photos before posting, which results in almost zero junk.
Stuckincustoms.com Great HDR site if you like HDR. I get tired of HDR, but I see some pretty good stuff here, with lot's of innovation.
Cambridgeincolour.com Site has beautiful pictures, and plenty of tutorials. This guy is patient, and knows what he's doing. Link
goes directly to tutorials.
